Newly Admitted Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to Kent State University at Geauga and the Regional Academic Center!

The opportunities before you are endless.  We look forward to helping you reach your academic, professional, and personal goals.  Following the steps below will ensure that our staff will be able to best assist you in your entry to the University.

  1. Complete the 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://fafsa.ed.gov if you want to be eligible for federal financial assistance (grants, loans, and/or work study).
  2. Log in and explore Kent State's Student Portal, Flashline.  Your username, student ID, and directions for first time login can be found on your admission letter.
  3. Complete your required placement assessments.  Transfer students who are unsure of what placement assessments may be required are encouraged to speak with an advisor by calling 440-834-4187 (Burton) or 330-888-6400 (Twinsburg).
  4. Register for and attend our new and transfer student orientation, EMPOWER.  EMPOWER is the Geauga Campus and Regional Academic Center's orientation, advising, and registration program for new and transfer students.  We know that college presents many exciting opportunities and new experiences.  This program is designed to provide you with the tools and information that will put you on the road to success.  Students who do not have current placement assessment scores on file by the time of their attendance at EMPOWER will be unable to register for a full schedule of classes.

Registration for Fall 2018 EMPOWER sessions will be available soon.  Check back!
