Spring 2023 begins on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. The university will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. If you don’t have a class scheduled for the 17th, then you don’t have to come to campus or log into your class. Hooray! Be sure to bookmark the Important Dates page for more information about the academic calendar.
You can find your printable schedule in FlashLine. Go to Student > Courses and Registration > View or Print Course Schedule and Purchase Textbooks. Pro-tip: An “R” on your scheduled meet times stands for Thursday.
Ideally, yes. To find out what books you need for your classes, go to FlashLine > Student > Courses and Registration > View or Print Course Schedule and Purchase Textbooks. You’ll want to make sure you have all materials marked required. If a book is recommended, email the professor or wait until the first day of class before purchasing.
We do not have a physical bookstore in Burton or Twinsburg. Barnes and Noble is the official bookstore of Kent State University, and students receive free shipping on textbooks. You can also visit the bookstore at the Kent Campus.
Stop by the Student Services Office during the first week of classes to have your FlashCard printed. If you are a 100%-online student who is not able to pick up your card at a Kent State campus, you can fill out the Flashcard Distance Learning Application (PDF). Once it has been completed please email the application, a notarized copy of an official state photo ID or Passport to email@example.com. Then upload a photo at flashweb.kent.edu using the sidebar links.
Log in to FlashLine and go to Student > Tuition and Payments > Print a Statement of Student Account. To avoid having classes dropped from your schedule, pay your bill by the due date. To pay your bill, go to Student > Tuition and Payments > Make an Online Payment (use credit card or checking/savings account).
Yes! We have free tutoring on campus and virtually. In addition, our Academic Services Office offers many workshops throughout the year to help you succeed. Check your kent.edu email regularly to learn about these programs.
Most majors do not require any special hardware or software. You can check the Technology Requirements page. All Kent State students get a free subscription to Microsoft Office 365 and have access to Google Drive as part of their email.
