Congratulations Dr. Zhiqiang Molly Wang 2021-2022 Provost's Fellow

The Provost's fellowship provides faculty members who have an interest in academic administration the chance to develop knowledge, skills, and experience as an administrator; to increase the understanding of the faculty about practices and procedures in academic administration; to extend and strengthen the administrative resources of the university; to assist in the development and implementation of projects in key areas; and to provide ongoing faculty involvement and input into the activities of the Provost's Office.

Dr. Wang joined Kent State in 2007 as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry where she was awarded early tenure and promotion in 2012, and went on to become a Full Professor in 2018 at Kent State University Geauga Campus. Dr. Wang's research, funded through national and local agencies, has resulted in nearly 50 peer-reviewed articles published in esteemed scholarly journals. She has accrued many accolades in her time in the Kent State Regional Campus system including the Alumni Association Distinguished Teaching Award in 2017, the Faculty Distinguished Teaching Award at Kent State Tuscarawas in 2014 and the Ferris Family Innovation Award from 2010 to 2013.

Dr. Wang has been a member of the Faculty Senate, the Faculty Senate Executive Committee, the Committee on Administrative Officers, several search committees, and various departmental and campus committees.

Please join me in welcoming Molly to this new role.

My best,

Melody Tankersley, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President and Provost
