Kent State Tuscarawas Rings Bell for Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

The Kent State University Tuscarawas community can help the Dover/New Philadelphia Salvation Army reach their goal of raising $125,000 in its 2019 Red Kettle Campaign.

On Fri., Dec. 6, from noon to 8 p.m., Kent State Tuscarawas students, faculty and staff will ring the bell and greet our community neighbors at Buehler’s in Dover.

Annie Tran, a Kent State Tuscarawas junior majoring in engineering technology, painted the kettle to represent Kent State Tuscarawas.

“We are excited to support the Salvation Army and the Red Kettle Campaign in their fundraising efforts,” said Dr. Denise McEnroe-Petitte, Associate Professor at Kent State Tuscarawas and chair of the community engagement committee. “Students, faculty and staff can still sign up to be bell ringers and raise money for our local community. We hope to see many of our community friends at the Dover Buehler’s on Friday!”

Sign up with a friend for an hour to ring the bell together and represent the Kent State Tuscarawas campus in Kent State gear or something festive. The sign-up sheet is in the dean’s office.

All of the money raised by the Red Kettle Campaign stays in Tuscarawas County and is used to fund Salvation Army activities, such as programs for youth and a soup kitchen. Funds will also help with new programs, including a Learning Zone after-school program, which is open to kids in kindergarten through fifth grade.
