Kent State Tuscarawas, a Military Friendly® School, recognizes the unique contributions and needs of veteran and active duty students. We offer priority registration and scheduling for service members and veterans. Please see your academic advisor for more information.

You must complete these steps to use your GI Bill® benefits at Kent State Tuscarawas:

1. Gather Your Documents

The following documents and information will be needed during the application process. If you currently don’t have these documents, you should apply for them immediately.

  • Driver’s License or Valid Identification
  • Social Security Card
  • DD214
  • Official Transcripts from your high school (not your diploma) or Official GED Scores and Official Transcripts from any previous colleges - These items should be sent directly to Kent State Tuscarawas. 
  • Bank Account and Routing Numbers – For having your benefits direct deposited.

2. Apply for GI Bill® Benefits

This application must be completed as early in the process as possible. Processing can take 8-12 weeks.

3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Include the Kent State Tuscarawas school code - 003062. Be sure to print your confirmation email after submitting.

4. Apply for Admission to Kent State Tuscarawas

After you apply, an admissions counselor will contact you about your next steps, including submitting transcripts, placement testing and registering for classes. Check your email regularly!

5. Complete a VA Registration Form (Required Every Semester)

Each semester, after you have registered for classes, you must complete a VA Registration Form. The form can be picked up and returned to the front desk in the Admissions & Student Services Office in Founders Hall.
