Events to Honor Constitution Day on September 17

Kent State University at Stark will present an informational lecture on Thursday, Sept. 17 to honor Constitution Day, which recognizes the formation and adoption of the United States Constitution and all U.S. citizens, whether by birth or naturalization. 

Following a flag ceremony, held at the campus flagpole near the Frank Avenue entrance, a lecture led by a Kent State Stark professor, will take place in the Library, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. These events are free and open to the public. 

The schedule is as follows: 

Flag Ceremony
9 a.m. 
Kent State Stark Flagpole Circle 
Stark Campus music students will sing The National Anthem 

Death in the New Summer of Love! An Analysis of the Supreme Court’s Overlooked Death Penalty Case
Presentation by Andrew Povtak, Ph.D. 
3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Library Conference Room 
Refreshments and pocket Constitutions provided.
