First-Ever Multicultural Festival at Kent State Stark Celebrates Four Very Distinct Countries

Experience Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran & Nepal

Campus community will be able to experience culture of Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran and Nepal.

The world comes to our doorstep as Kent State University at Stark hosts its first-ever Multicultural Festival Wednesday and Thursday, April 12-13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Campus Center. The festival will bring the international sights, sounds and flavors of Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran and Nepal to campus.

A collaboration between the Diversity Committee, Office of Multicultural Initiatives and Global Education Initiatives, the Multicultural Festival provides opportunities for the campus community to explore and celebrate the culture, food, music and art of these four very different countries that have a daily impact on world events.

“The event is meant to encourage and celebrate diversity among students, faculty and staff,” said Sarah Schmidt, outreach program coordinator for the Office of Global Education Initiatives. “We hope to make this an annual event, recognizing different countries each year.”
