Student Records

Kent State University policy 5-08.101 provides operational procedures for administering and maintaining student education records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). View Student Records policy.

Official Transcripts

All financial obligations to Kent State University must be satisfied before a transcript is released.

Copies of your official academic transcript are available through the following delivery methods. Please allow extra processing time at the beginning and ending of each semester.

1. Electronic Exchange to Ohio Public Institutions
Official, certified paper transcript. This is a fast, secure and environmentally-friendly delivery method. Send your official transcript (undergraduate level only) electronically to another Ohio Public Institution. This service is free. 

  • View list of eligible institutions.
  • Reflects official grade and degree information at the time the request is processed. Special requests to hold for current term grades or degrees are available. 
  • Current and recently enrolled students log in to Flashline and go to Student > Resources > Grades & Transcripts > Request Official Transcript > Select Electronic Exchange to Ohio Public Institutions.
  • Former students who cannot access FlashLine may complete the Transcript Request Form

2. US Postal Service (Paper Transcript)
Official, certified paper transcript. This service is free. Please allow 2–3 business days for processing. Allow additional time for mail service delivery.

  • Current and recently enrolled students log into FlashLine > Student > Resources > Grades and Transcripts > Request Official Transcript > Select US Postal Service or FedEx.
  • Former students who cannot access FlashLine may complete the Transcript Request Form
  • Contact the Office of Student Services at 330-244-3251 with questions.

3. Pick Up In-Person (Paper Transcript)
Official, certified paper transcript, free of charge. Stop in the Office of Student Services, 132 Main Hall, from 8 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. weekdays. Be sure to bring a photo ID with you.

4. FedEx (Paper Transcript) - available at the Kent Campus only
Official, certified paper transcript can be sent out express delivery. You must provide a FedEx account number with your transcript request to use this service. Fees vary depending on the destination and method of the delivery and will be charged to directly to your FedEx account. Contact the One Stop for Student Services at 330-672-6000 for further information on this service. 

  • Current and recently enrolled students log into FlashLine > Student > Resources > Grades and Transcripts > Request Official Transcript > Select US Postal Service or FedEx.
  • Former students who cannot access FlashLine may complete the Transcript Request Form

5. eTranscript
Official, certified, electronic transcript. This is a secure and environmentally-friendly delivery method to employers, agencies, and other institutions (Ohio non-public, non-Ohio and for graduate admission).

  • Reflects official grade and degree information at the time the request is processed. Special requests to hold for current term grades or degrees are not available. Specific dates for availability of current semester grades and degrees may be found on the Processing Dates for Grades and Transcripts page.
  • A $3.00 convenience fee per transcript will be charged to your credit card.
  • Current and recently enrolled students log into FlashLine > Student > Resources > Grades & Transcripts > Request Official Transcript > Select eTranscript.
  • Former students who cannot access FlashLine may complete the Transcript Request Form

Reminder

It is imperative that we have the following information from you:

  • Current name
  • Any former names
  • Current address
  • Kent State ID number (begins with 8) or social security number
  • Dates of attendance
  • Campuses attended
  • Complete address(es) where transcripts are to be mailed
  • Student's written signature
  • A phone number or email address where to contact you if there are questions regarding your request.

UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Current students can view an unofficial version of their transcripts by logging in to FlashLine > Student > Resources > Grades & Transcripts > View Unofficial Transcript.
