Meet the Author Thi Bui on Sept. 28
Kent State University at Stark will present Thi Bui, author of the award-winning graphic memoir, “The Best We Could Do”, for a keynote event and book reading Sept. 28.
Kent State University is one of 62 organizations nationwide to be awarded a 2023-2024 National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Big Read grant. The Stark Campus’ $14,100 grant will support the Big Read Northeast Ohio, a community reading program and related events this fall.
Two Stark Professors Named Finalists for KSU Distinguished Teaching Award
Kent State University at Stark is excited to announce that Amy Damrow, Ph.D., and Claudia Gomez, Ph.D., both from the Stark Campus, along with Jeffrey Osikiewicz, Ph.D., from the Tuscarawas Campus, have been selected as finalists for the 57th Annual Kent State University Alumni Association Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA).
Joseph French Named 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient
In 1996, Kent State University at Stark began recognizing distinguished alumni who attended Kent State Stark. Award recipients are recognized for excellence in a profession, service to the community and service to Kent State Stark.
This summer, Kent State Stark named Joseph French as the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
Stark County Summer Math Academy
For the past two years, Dr. Bathi Kasturiarachi has been hosting the Stark County Summer Math Academy for high school students at the Stark Campus, paid for by grants he received from the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), the world’s largest community of mathematicians dedicated advancing the understanding of mathematics and its impact on the world.
