University hosts its annual Homecoming celebration on Oct. 1

Josh Cribbs, a three-time NFL Pro Bowler and 2010 graduate of Kent State University, will return to his alma mater to serve as the Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal at the university’s annual Homecoming on Oct. 1.

Community members as well as Kent State University faculty, staff, alumni and students are all invited to attend the Faculty Lecture Series, hosted by the Kent State Alumni Association, from March 30 through May 3. Free and open to the public, the events span disciplines from all eight Kent State campuses.

Marquita Rodgers, program coordinator of alumni relations at Kent State, says the Faculty Lecture Series was created in 2013 to showcase the interests, research and academic talents of the university’s faculty. 

In the spirit of Halloween, University Communications and Marketing at Kent State University created six Kent State-themed pumpkin carving stencils – Spooky KSU, KSU Vampire, Flash Ghost, Flash Fright, Excellent Pumpkin and Dawn of KSU.

Kent State University Alumni Association is hosting Alumni Weekend on Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16. Alumni and the community members are invited to attend these two days of exciting, hands-on activities.

McLain comes to Kent State from Louisiana State University where he served as senior vice president of the LSU Foundation. He joins Kent State on May 15. 

Kent State University celebrated Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 18, with a Kent State Golden Flashes win of 39-17 over the Army Black Knights. Kent State alumni, students, faculty, staff and the community came together to celebrate the Homecoming theme of “Kent State Pride is Worldwide.”
