Electrical/Electronic Assistant

ROLE: The role of this position is to be exposed to and assist in obtaining optimal performance of all building systems and equipment used in the production areas for the manufacturing of commercial publications. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Assist with repairs to electrical equipment, including automated machines, conveyor systems, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems and alarms.
  • Assist with troubleshoot PLC’s, motor controls, industrial systems networking and servo systems including low voltage DC up through 480 volt three-phase power.
  • On-the-job training to utilize working knowledge and experience in the areas of VFDs, motors/wiring configurations, PLCs, computers, electrical schematics, control circuits, electrical distribution systems. 
  • Assist in performing complex assignments. 
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance.
  • Assist and participate in analyzing and planning for future equipment recommendations and replacements.
  • Assist in and share technical assistance with other maintenance technicians. 
  • Ability to work from heights via ladders and manlifts.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings, sketches or layouts.
  • On-the-job training to learn knowledge of techniques, materials, tools and equipment used.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and proactive approach with equipment maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates should be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree, associate degree or certificate program studying electrical, mechanical, or electro/mechanical engineering technology, industrial maintenance, industrial technology or manufacturing.   

SKILLS:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial safety and math.
  • Computer - average skills in Windows; AutoCAD.
  • Analytical – above average ability to breakdown an activity, recommend a solution and 
  • implement the solution.  
  • Organizational – effectiveness and efficiency in getting information and completing tasks.
  • Communication – able to communicate effectively within and outside the sphere of influence.
  • Interpersonal – can lead/train less experienced maintenance employees.
  • Attention to detail – follows instructions, identifies areas of improvement throughout the company.
  • Accountability – responsible for yourself.
  • Commitment to Service - willing to do what is needed to serve others.

Job Title: Engineering Intern

Purpose:  This engineering position requires a limited amount of engineering experience and typically has no experience with company products or manufacturing processes. He or she will be responsible for assisting in the documentation of products and processes throughout the organization. This person works closely with Engineering, Project Leaders and Manufacturing.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Proficient use and knowledge of company computer aided drafting/engineering software for the creation of engineering drawings.
  • Documentation of the method of manufacturing including the operations and bill of materials within the company’s ERP system.
  • Creating templates and tooling for use during the manufacturing process to ensure the production of quality parts.
  • Documentation of work instructions for processes throughout the organization.
  • Creating and updating engineering standards for consistency in our documentation.
  • Assisting quality with the inspection of parts and materials.
  • Development of lean tools and their application in a manufacturing environment.

Note:  Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Company Description: Objective Reality Games LLC was established October of 2019. Since then we have been noted in several trade magazines, news outlets, and magazines as innovators in tech entertainment. We are the first company in the world to have marketed themselves as a virtual reality escape room vs VR arcade. From inception it has been our goal to create a game design studio and we feel with the current state of the world that time is now. Our short term goal is to design and have a workable escape room by October 1st, 2020 for our convention circuit in order to promote and establish Objective Reality Game Design Studio in the industry. We are looking for innovative, driven, and passionate developers to join us in turning this dream into a reality. 

-Job Description #1: Remote Game Design Intern

Responsibilities: Work in collaboration with our group here in Chillicothe, Ohio to design, test, and help launch our VR escape room concept. Our vision is to create a playable escape room to pitch investors, take to gaming conventions, and use locally in our store. We plan to use Unity for development so we need someone familiar with the software. Ideal candidate will be a self motivator, able to complete deadlines and work well in a collaborative environment. This is a start up so we want someone open minded and flexible, everything will not always go as planned. Most importantly we want everyone to feel passionate about the project. 

Payment Opportunities: As stated in the description this project will be used in store as well on our gaming convention circuit. We will offer 5% of gross sales in contract for the project with the opportunity to be first considered when the design studio is proven to be a viable business.
 
Internship Credit: This project will be usable as experience for an internship course and you will be able to use this on your portfolio for future employment.


-Job Description #2: On location intern/part time store clerk

Responsibilities: This position will be in store. Your primary focus will be on the VR Escape room. With the COVID-19 guidlines set in place by the Governors office, we are unable to use our party room or other gathering spaces for customers. We will be redesigning this space as our studio for now. Our vision is to create a playable escape room to pitch investors, take to gaming conventions, and use locally in our store. We plan to use Unity for development so we need someone familiar with the software. Ideal candidate will be a self motivator, able to complete deadlines and work well in a collaborative environment. This is a start up so we want someone open minded and flexible, everything will not always go as planned. Most importantly we want everyone to feel passionate about the project. Beyond game design you will be a part time 20hr a week employee of our VR escape room and arcade. As such you will be greeting customers, explaining how to use VR, how to use the arcade platform, and answering any game related questions. Minor computer troubleshooting will also be needed. Experience playing VR games will be helpful but not necessary. Our store hours are 2pm-10pm Wednesday-Sunday so you be working some weekends. Game design will be done in off hours or during downtime on shift.

Hours per week: 40hr week.

Payment opportunities: As a part time employee of Objective Reality Games we will pay $9hr. That will be a 20hr a week job as described above. the remaining 20hrs a week will be game design time. The pay structure for this time will be 5% of gross sales in contract for the project with the opportunity to be first considered when the design studio is proven to be a viable business. 

Internship Credit: This project will be usable as experience for an internship course and you will be able to use this on your portfolio for future employment.

-Job Description #3: Unpaid internship

Responsibilities: Being that we are a small business and our sales will undoubtedly be affected by the current state of our economy, we are only able to hire on one part time employee presently. If anyone wanted to come down and enjoy the great city of Chillicothe, we do have the space and available PC's to facilitate up to 4 aspiring developers while maintaining the physical distancing guidelines. There are however plenty of food service positions open right now for part time work in the area.  All the same responsibilities from the remote intern would apply with free use to our space and PC's.
