Are you ready to strut your mutt at the 5K for K9s and You?

Kent State Tuscarawas Alumni Association and Geib Funeral Homes, Crematories and Remembrance Centers are partnering for the: 

Flash Dash 5K and .5 Mile Fun Run/Walk
Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Kent State Tuscarawas
330 University Dr. NE
New Philadelphia, OH 

Participants can compete in a self-timed run or walk individually, or bring your well-behaved dog to join you in the contests. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and race time is at 10 a.m.

Two division options for the 5K include a runner only division and a runner + dog division. The .5 mile fun run/walk is open for all including your K9. All dogs must be leashed, vaccinated and tagged.

Registration Fees:
Free - Students 5K or .5 Mile Fun Run/Walk Preregistered
$10 - Alumni 5K or .5 Mile Fun Run/Walk Preregistered
$15 - 5K Preregistered
$20 - 5K Day of Event
$15 - .5 Mile Fun Run/Walk

All preregistered participants will receive a free t-shirt. Preregister by Sept. 8, 2026.

Flash Dash Registration & SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Eventgoers and pets do not have to compete. The dog-friendly event also includes a Doggie Fest for the whole family featuring food, furry paw art, puppy photo booth, doggie costume judging, race awards and other fun activities. Proceeds support Kent State Tuscarawas student scholarships.

“Dogs are family these days,” says Chad Conrad, director of philanthropy. “We want to bring together the love of pets and Kent State Tuscarawas for a dog-gone day of fun and Golden Eagles pride to help make the future brighter for our students.”
