Faculty Computer Policy
Fulltime tenure-track and full-time non-tenure track faculty members are eligible to be issued a new computer upon their initial hire and each subsequent three year period thereafter. The policy of the Geauga Campus and Regional Academic Center functions similarly to the policy established at the Kent Campus. Each campus has its own policy regarding issuing computers and faculty refresh. The Geauga Campus and Regional Academic Center have several variances from the Kent Campus policy, such as the date calculated for faculty refresh is based upon the period of time that has passed from issue (three years for full-time faculty), rather than annual cycles with groups of users. An additional variance from the Kent Campus policy is that we issue/refresh only Microsoft Windows-based computers. This variance is a means to better support all of our customers within a homogeneous environment.
Currently, the two computer styles that may be selected from are nicely equipped Dell-branded computers, including models from the Dell Latitude series of notebook computers and models from the Dell OptiPlex AIO (All-In-One) desktop computer series.
