New CCP Students

New College Credit Plus (CCP) students

Congratulations! Now that you’ve been accepted to Kent State Geauga and the Twinsburg Academic Center College Credit Plus (CCP) program, there are a few things you must do before you register for classes.

NEXT STEPS

  1. Log in to your FlashLine account. Now that you're a Kent State student, you will find the important information you need in our student portal, FlashLine. You will receive a separate email with your FlashLine credentials with the subject line “Your FlashLine Credentials | Kent State University.” To set up your FlashLine account, go to welcome.kent.edu and follow the instructions. Refer to your acceptance email for your User Name and Kent State Identification Number. If you need login assistance, please contact the IT Help Desk at 440-834-3751.

  2. Complete CCP Orientation in Canvas. New CCP students admitted to Kent State Geauga and the Twinsburg Academic Center will complete a mandatory online orientation session through Canvas, the university’s learning management system. For new Summer and Fall admits to the program, orientation and registration sessions begin in April; for new Spring admits, orientation begins in November.

The orientation includes five online learning modules, with quizzes. At the end of the fifth quiz, you will be emailed the Academic Maturity Form, as required by Ohio Revised Code 3365.035. Upon completion of the Academic Maturity Form, you will be provided with a link to register for an advising appointment, where you will schedule your classes. Please note: The instructions with the link to register for an advising appointment can take three to five business days to generate.

  3. Get your FlashCard. Stop by the Student Services Office at the Geauga Campus or Twinsburg Academic Center to obtain your FlashCard. This is your official university ID card and can be used to print on campus and earn discounts at retailers.

TEXTBOOKS

Public- and private-school CCP students should consult with the high school to determine how books and materials are to be obtained. Some high schools purchase materials on their own, and some use the university bookstore at the Kent Campus. Please do as instructed by your high school. Pay attention to your high school’s deadlines and process for requesting and returning materials. Students can find out what books and materials are required for their courses by logging into FlashLine, then clicking Student>Dashboard>View or Print Schedule and Purchase Textbooks.

If your high school uses the university bookstore, books will be available two weeks before classes begin each semester. Be sure to present your FlashCard and current course schedule if visiting the bookstore in person. The Geauga Campus and Twinsburg Academic Center does not have a bookstore on-site, but materials can be shipped to your home at no charge.

CCP Textbook Ordering Instructions

Homeschooled students are responsible for providing their own coursework materials and/or textbooks. Students can find out what books and materials are required for their courses by logging into FlashLine, then clicking Student>Dashboard>View or Print Schedule and Purchase Textbooks.
