WINE TO WATER – HOW WINNIE BUSH SPENT SPRING BREAK

For Spring break, I spent my week with other Kent State students at Wine to Water, Dominican Republic. It was a life changing experience.

The uniqueness of the culture and people and their open and inviting nature were to my group and myself an immeasurable life experience. One of my favorite parts of the trip was meeting an 88 years old woman who, when she sighted my group, stood up to hug and kiss each one of us. She shared her story and the impact that Wine to Water has had on her life.

Wine to Water creates water filters for people all over the world to help combat water issues. They have locations in Dominican Republic, Nepal, Colombia and Tanzania.

Once I graduate with my Master’s degree, I hope to work with organizations like WTW to address social issues to help meet basic human needs. I encourage everyone to get involved, and help organizations like WTW make the world a better place for you, and for me.
