President Warren Uses Her Athletic Past to Guide the Future

Kent State University President Beverly Warren shares her unique résumé, merging academics with athletics. Warren sat down with a Record-Courier reporter to discuss her humble start as a basketball and volleyball coach at the University of Montevallo and how the experience helped her develop an inclusive and collaborate leadership style at Kent State.

When asked about her plans for the athletic programs at Kent State, Warren talked about her desire to move toward a more competitive environment within the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and encourage a dynamically fun atmosphere that pulls students together at all Kent State athletic events.

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 20, at 9:50 a.m. All Kent State University campuses will be participating in this test. We will broadcast a recorded tornado education message through university speaker systems and IP (Internet Protocol) phones throughout buildings on all Kent State campuses.

This is only a test of the mass notification systems, and no shelter-in-place activities are required.

The Kent Campus tests the tornado sirens on the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. and on the third Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Kent State has pledged to offer a host of benefits to Notre Dame College students who have accrued 60 or more credit hours. For those with fewer than 60 credits, the invitation is extended to apply to Kent State as transfer students, with a commitment to facilitating a smooth transition.

Kent State University’s Regional Campuses are hosting a series of information sessions designed to help Eastern Gateway Community College students navigate the transfer process and continue their education pathways.

Admissions and student service teams are proactively working to help maximize the transferability of credits and providing personalized support for current EGCC students.
