Why is Kent State canceling its programs in South Korea but not Italy?

Kent State students studying in South Korea are exchange students at our partner universities or participating in the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP), which is an independent program. ISEP made the decision to cancel its program and require students to return home. Additionally, our partner universities indicated to us that they were experiencing disruptions in academic and student support services due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This has resulted in delays to the start of the academic semester and/or very limited services available on campus, including limited to no dining options. Therefore, we felt it was best for students to return home. Our partner universities in South Korea support this decision by Kent State.
