Kent State Prof Weighs in on Anti-Vaxxers
The recent measles outbreak in the United States has stirred up a lot of debate about getting children vaccinated. Kent State University associate professor Tara Smith in the College of Public Health shared her views with CNN on what does and does not influence parents to vaccinate their children.
Smith points to psychological studies where showing parents positive medical data can often do more harm than good. Smith says, in some cases, the data can actually make parents more skeptical of vaccines.
