Kent State School of Art's Downtown Gallery Presents the National Collage Society’s Annual Postcard Collage Show

The Kent State University School of Art's Downtown Gallery will present the National Collage Society’s Annual Postcard Collage Show from June 19 through July 20 in the Downtown Gallery.

The Kent State University School of Art's Downtown Gallery  will present the National Collage Society’s Annual Postcard Collage Show from June 19 through July 20 in the Downtown Gallery.The Kent State University School of Art's Downtown Gallery  will present the National Collage Society’s Annual Postcard Collage Show from June 19 through July 20 in the Downtown Gallery. The gallery will host an opening reception on Thursday, June 20, from 5-7 p.m., which is free and open to the public. The gallery is located at 141 E. Main St. in Kent, and is open Wednesday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Annual Postcard Collage Show is a small format (4”x6”), invitational exhibition that gives each participating National Collage Society member an opportunity to display one original collage they select for entry.   
   
The National Collage Society, Inc. (NCS, Inc.) is an art foundation formed to foster the appreciation and interest in the art medium of collage. The NCS, Inc. promotes the advancement of collage as a major art medium and assists in the education of the public through exhibits, workshops, lectures and publications.
   
Gretchen Bierbaum, president of the National Collage Society, is hosting a Collage Techniques Workshop, Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshops will be held at the Downtown Gallery. Collage in all Dimensions - Techniques to Alter and Transfer Images, the techniques book written by Bierbaum, will be used at this workshop.
