Important Information for Students Returning to the U.S. From Level 3 Warning Countries

Dear Students,

It is our combined responsibility as a community to each do our part to curtail the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Because you have just returned from a CDC Level 3 Warning country, the CDC strongly recommends that you self-isolate at home for two weeks before returning to campus to reduce the potential spread of the virus. Please abstain from public places like classrooms, work, public gatherings and public transportation.

During your 14-day self-isolation, check your temperature daily. If you develop a fever (temperature greater than 100.4 F) or symptoms of a respiratory illness such as cough or shortness of breath, seek medical advice by calling your local health department. If you cannot reach your local health department, call ahead before going to the emergency room or doctor’s office to notify them of your recent travel.

Health questions can be directed to University Health Services at 330-672-2322 or after hours to the Kent State Nurse Line at 330-672-2326. Questions about academic accommodations should be directed to the Office of Global Education at 330-672-7980.

The health and safety of our students remains our foremost priority, and we are here to assist you throughout this process. We must all do our part to keep our community safe – Flashes Take Care of Flashes.

Please see the attached Travelers Info Card from the CDC for additional helpful information.

Best Regards,

Education Abroad Team
