UPDATED ADVISORY: Kent State University Board of Trustees Meeting, June 4

UPDATED JUNE 3, 2015: There are some changes to the media advisory that was sent June 1. Please note that the Kent State University Board of Trustees will convene its next regular business meeting June 4 at 2:30 p.m. (instead of 3 p.m.). The Finance and Administration Committee meeting will meet from 12:45-2:15 p.m. Also, the Board meeting agenda has been revised. It is available at www.kent.edu/bot/meetings.

The Kent State University Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting Thursday, June 4. The Board is scheduled to convene at 2:30 p.m. in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room, which is located on the second floor of the Kent Campus Library.

Trustees will retire into executive session at 10:30 a.m. in the Kent Student Center Alumni Suite to consider specific topics as provided for under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law.” The session will continue during a working lunch in the Alumni Suite from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Board committees will meet as follows:

  • Committee of the Whole – 8:30–9 a.m. in the Urban Conference Room.
  • Academic Excellence and Student Success Committee – 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the Urban Conference Room.
  • Audit and Compliance Committee – 9:15-10:15 a.m. in Room 222.
  • Finance and Administration Committee — 12:45-2:15 p.m. in the Urban Conference Room.
  • External Relations and Development Committee – 12:45-1:45 p.m. in Room 222.

The Board will be considering an expenditure authorization to continue the current budget until additional information from the state of Ohio allows for a more informed and meaningful 2015-16 budget to be approved. Additionally, the Board will be considering a change to the full-time tuition plateau, currently 11-16 credit hours, for Kent Campus undergraduate students as well as the elimination of the additional per-credit-hour fee charged to students enrolled for 17 and 18 credit hours.
