University Message Regarding Racial Slur on Kent Campus

Dear Members of the Kent State University Community,

Kent State Police received a report of a racial slur visible in a restroom in the Kent Campus University Library. It is not certain when it was written, but its appearance serves as a reminder that racism, intolerance and violence, in all of their forms, have no place at Kent State. Our university is committed to its core value of creating a community of kindness and respect, and the recent appearance of this symbol of hate tells us again of the work still ahead of us.

At any time, students in need, or individuals who are concerned about a student’s mental well-being, will find Counseling and Psychological Services available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 330-672-2487. University employees in need of support may contact IMPACT Solutions at 1-800-227-6007, which is available 24 hours a day.
