Important Security Notice for University-Managed Computers

To all Kent State University staff:

The Division of Information Technology is sharing the following updates to assist our staff members who are working from home.

Enhanced Antivirus Protection for University-Managed Devices

Beginning Tuesday, March 24, Information Technology will begin to roll out a security measure called Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) to all university-managed Macs and Windows machines. Defender ATP is an enhanced antivirus platform that specifically protects against modern attacks like ransomware.

You will not need to take any action. The rollout will occur in the background and will not require a restart. Once implemented, this service will immediately begin to protect your university-managed computer.

Keep on Learning, Teaching, Working with Free Adobe Creative Cloud

The university has partnered with Adobe to provide free Adobe Creative Cloud licenses to our students, faculty and staff to allow continued access to these tools from off campus. Learn how to take advantage of this offer and other details.

Online Workshops to Help You Work from Home
