Comedian John Caparulo to Perform at Kent State University

Comedian and Kent State alumnus John Caparulo will take the stage at the Kent Student Center Ballroom on Thursday, Jan. 31.

Tickets cost $5 for Kent State students, $10 for the general public and can be purchased from the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center ticket office and from Ticketmaster.

Caparulo made his stand-up debut in 1997 in comedy clubs around Cleveland and Pittsburgh. He had his big break in 2003 at the “Just For Laughs Festival” where his impressive stand-up act landed him a sitcom deal. You may also recognize him from his multiple television appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Comedy Central Presents, and Blue Collar Comedy: The Next Generation, and as a regular on Chelsea Lately.

Caparulo’s first feature film, Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show, was released in 2008, as well as his one-hour special called Meet Cap that is now available on CD/DVD. He also voices the role of “Headphone Joe” in the Disney Channel series Fish Hooks. In 2010, Caparulo became the spokesperson for Edge Shave Gel. When he is not busy touring the nation doing his stand-up acts, you can catch him hosting his own radio show, The Mad Cap Hour, on Sirius/XM Blue Collar Radio.
