Kent State Mourns the Loss of Student Devin Moore

The Kent State University family mourns the tragic loss of one of our students, senior Devin Moore.

Devin was from Cleveland, Ohio, and was studying journalism in the College of Communication and Information. Devin is a graduate of Beachwood High School and was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., which named him a 2017 4th District Omega Psi Phi Man of the Year.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Devin Moore’s family, friends and Kent State students as they grieve his tragic passing.

Support is available for members of the Kent State community who are grieving his loss through Psychological Services, University Health Services by calling 330-672-2487. Other assistance is available from the Dean of Students, Dr. Lamar Hylton, at 223 Kent Student Center, 330-672-8003, odos@kent.edu.

Additional opportunities for students to receive support include meeting with staff during Kent Student Center drop-in hours for Thursday, Dec. 7th:

  • 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. – Leader’s Lounge in the Kent Student Center, adjacent to the Center for Student Involvement
  • 4 p.m. – Student Multicultural Center

A gospel choir concert tonight offers another moment for our community to gather and share support. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. in Kent State’s Cartwright Hall, 650 Hilltop Drive.
