Welcome to Kent State University College of Aeronautics and Engineering
What a fantastic time to be part of the College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) here at Kent State! We are uniquely positioned to be leaders in addressing some of the most challenging issues we are facing as a nation and as a people. Our rich history, our commitment to excellence, our passion for innovation, and our dedication to local and global communities, makes this College a place I am proud to call home. Our passionate students, industry partners, and dedicated faculty and staff transform lives – here and abroad. Who would not want to be a part of that?
The challenges we are all facing also represent tremendous opportunity. The aviation industry is experiencing a capacity crisis – unable to produce enough pilots, mechanics, technicians, and support personnel to effectively move people across the country and the world. The space industry is undergoing a transformation resulting in a new space race and the demand for qualified engineering technologists and engineers is growing daily. The emerging area of autonomous transportation systems, including autonomous water, ground, aerial and space vehicles, is leading to new industries in desperate need of a trained workforce. The need for sustainable and alternative energy systems across the globe is leading to demands for people trained to understand complex environmental, societal, ethical and engineering interactions. And engineering design and manufacturing companies across the globe are competing for engineers and engineer technologists who are out-of-the-box thinkers with hands-on training and understanding.
Here in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering we are producing agents of change. The cutting-edge research of our faculty, the state-of the art facilities, the academic programs designed to address the critical needs of our changing world, the host of undergraduate and graduate students with a passion to change that world … These are the things that make us distinctive. We are the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State University and we are not afraid of the future. We embrace it and aim to be the ones to make it all it can be.
Whether you are a student looking to achieve your purpose, a researcher looking for partners, a company looking to hire, an alumnus looking to come back home, or a partner wanting to aid us in our mission through philanthropy, we invite you to be a part of something big. Check back with us through this website, send us your contact information, follow us on Facebook and twitter, and help us define our vision of the future. Join us! Be part of CAE!
