Taylor Hall Reopens With a Three-Day Celebration

Kent State University’s College of Communication and Information – the academic home to five innovative, professional schools whose work spans the disciplines of communication, information and technology – will celebrate the reopening of the newly renovated Taylor Hall, Sept. 21-23. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the college, the 85th anniversary of the School of Communication Studies, the 80th anniversary of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the 5th anniversary of the interdisciplinary School of Digital Sciences.

The School of Visual Communication Design has moved from the Art Building into its new home in Taylor Hall, joining the School of Communication Studies in the historic building whose interior has been transformed to become the home of these dynamic programs. The new Taylor Hall features a signature gallery, photo and design studios, updated classrooms and a centralized student advising space. The School of Digital Sciences will also spend this academic year in Taylor Hall.

Renovations to Taylor Hall also include the expansion of the May 4 Visitors Center. The center now has new spaces for exhibits and offices, as well as a space for accommodating large tour groups.

The College of Communication and Information's celebration of Taylor Hall and its schools will bring together students, alumni, faculty, staff and the Kent State community. The events will include celebrations that honor and showcase the accomplishments of its alumni across the college; panels that will help students with careers and internships; and opportunities for alumni and students to network and build community.

Join Kent State's College of Communication and Information and its five professional schools for the reopening of Taylor Hall on Sept. 21-23. Highlighted events are open to everyone.
