MEDIA ADVISORY: Details for Media Planning to Cover Kent State’s First University-Wide Commencement Ceremony This Saturday

WHAT:
Kent State University will celebrate its newest graduates at its Spring 2017 Commencement. In total, Kent State will confer 5,636 degrees, including 992 associate degrees, 3,319 bachelor’s degrees, 1,139 master’s degrees, 181 doctoral degrees and five educational specialist degrees. 

The One University Commencement Ceremony will take place Saturday, May 13, at 10 a.m. in Dix Stadium and will feature Academy Award-winning actress and author Octavia Spencer as the keynote speaker. This ceremony will mark the first time all graduates from the eight-campus system are convened and honored in one ceremony. All Kent State students and their families will celebrate the occasion together.

Members of the media who plan to attend must RSVP to the media contacts listed below to secure a media credential and parking pass. Please allow for plenty of time to travel to Dix Stadium as the university anticipates heavy traffic congestion around the stadium.
